Guide
School snack shop software
Run a school snack shop on prepaid accounts with deposits, purchases, and an audit trail in Concession Ledger.
The clipboard failure mode
Monday's volunteer writes balances in a notebook. Wednesday's volunteer cannot read the handwriting. Friday a parent swears they deposited $20. Nobody can prove it.
School snack shops need searchable accounts, same-day deposit logging, and a history of changes when people disagree.
What to set up in week one
Create accounts for regular buyers (students, staff, or families, depending on how your shop works). Decide who can adjust balances. Log deposits when cash or checks arrive, not "later when it is quiet."
Show new volunteers the audit trail once. The feature only helps if people know it exists.
What this is not
Concession Ledger is not your district's full finance system. It is the snack stand's account book: prepaid balances, purchases, deposits, and who changed what.
Churches and clubs use the same product with different language. See the church guide if that is your setting.
