Letter-transfer puzzle
Move exactly one letter from one word to the other so both sides match their clues. That is Affix.
The move
Affix starts with two words you can already see. Each has a clue. You move exactly one letter from one word into the other. Leftover letters stay in order. Both sides have to become new words that fit the clues.
The stock example is PLATE and CAR. Clues: “not on time” and “a fish.” Move P onto CAR and you get LATE and CARP. That is the whole job.
How a day actually feels
Today’s daily is five rounds. Tap a letter, then a landing slot on the other word. Drag works the same way. Check only counts when you submit.
Hint 1 says which word donates. Hint 2 names the letter. Reveal ends the round unassisted. A new puzzle arrives at midnight in America/New York. Practice has twelve extra rounds that do not touch your streak.
What this is not
This is not a hidden-answer daily. Dualword hides two five-letter words and scores one guess against both. Affix shows the words and asks you to move a letter.
It is also not a path puzzle. Onword puts letters on a board and you find a route. For ages 4 to 7 letter practice, use Fasty Letters.
Frequently asked questions
Do leftover letters get reshuffled?
No. Leftover letters stay in order. You are moving one letter, not anagramming the whole pair.
Where do I play it?
Free in the browser at affix.swizzleworks.com. Native iOS and Android listings are still coming.
When does a new daily appear?
At midnight in America/New York. Five rounds, then stop, or open practice if you want extra.
