Pediatric hypertension calculator

Use percentile lookup to support pediatric hypertension screening. Clear about what an app can and cannot decide.

Screening is not a single number

In kids, elevated blood pressure is judged against percentiles and against how the measurement was taken. One high reading on a bad cuff day is not the same as confirmed hypertension. Adult thresholds alone will mislead you.

A calculator-style lookup helps during the visit: place this reading among peers of the same age and height, then decide what follow-up the guideline and your judgment call for.

Where Pediatric Blood Pressure fits

Enter gender, age, and height to see the percentile bands. Enter the measured systolic and diastolic values to see which band they land near. That comparison is the useful part when you are tired of reconstructing the table by hand.

It does not grade white-coat hypertension. It does not order ambulatory monitoring. It does not write your assessment and plan. Those stay with you.

Measurement still comes first

Wrong cuff size, talking child, legs dangling, rushed first reading: the percentile will look precise and still be wrong. Fix the measurement before you trust the band.

If you need a refresher on the lookup UI itself, start with the calculator guide. If you care more about chart mental models, use the percentile chart guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does this diagnose hypertension?

No. It helps look up percentiles and compare a reading. Diagnosis follows clinical criteria, repeated measurements when needed, and your judgment.

Can parents confirm hypertension with this app?

No. It is a clinical reference for healthcare professionals, not a consumer diagnostic.

Where is the app available?

On iOS. The App Store link is on the Pediatric Blood Pressure product page.

What ages are covered?

The app uses pediatric tables from the 2017 AAP guideline. Check the product page for the current input ranges in the live build.
